A brief idea on World Series poker rules

Players from all over the world take part in the World Series Poker (WSOP) tournaments. Anyone above 21 years of age can enter and compete. There are three different ways to take part in the tournament:
-Take part in the World Series of Poker satellite tournaments
-Register yourself at the Horseshoe and lay down $10000 for your buy in
-Take part in various online tournaments and play to win and on winning, receive airfare, hotel reservations and the buy in for the WSOP tournament.

The World Series poker rules are the official rules, which apply to all WSOP tournaments. Before playing any WSOP tournaments be sure to review the World Series poker rules for that particular tournament. Even if you are familiar with general poker tournament play, many tournaments have their own peculiarities. However, some of the common rules are:
-Players must be at the table to call time.
-The chip race will always start in the No.1 seat.
-A player cannot be raced out of a tournament.
-Players must keep their highest denomination chips visible at all times.
-A penalty may be invoked if a player exposes any card with action pending, if a card(s) goes off the table, if soft-play occurs, or similar incidents take place.
-Penalties will be invoked in cases of abuse or disruptive behavior.

Rules of different events
World Series poker rules vary from event to event in some or the other way.

HOLDEM:
Each player is first dealt two cards down. After a round of betting, players decide if they are in or they're out. Then five community cards follow with betting after the flop, the turn, and the river. In the end, the best five-card combination wins the hand and takes the pot.

OMAHA:
This game is similar to Texas Holdem except for one big difference. Each player receives four down-cards here instead of two and a player must use two of their down-cards along with three of the community card. Everything else is the same.

SEVEN CARD STUD:
Each player is dealt three cards, 2 down and third up. Players then decide for the first time whether they're in, or out. The next three cards are all dealt face up, with more rounds of betting after each card. The seventh and final card is dealt face down.

RAZZ:
This game is almost like seven card stud but the low hand wins here. Flushes and straights don't count as high hands.

LOWBALL:
It's five-card draw and the low hand wins. The point of the game is to have the lowest hand possible. Here straights and flushes count as high hands.
