BROWNSVILLE, Texas – As reported by the Brownsville Valley Morning Star: "Police destroyed 30 video gambling machines on Tuesday as part of a new strategy to reduce illegal gambling in the area.
"Undercover officers have shut down at least a dozen video casinos over the last three years for making illegal payouts, but investigators realized they had confiscated many of the same machines before.
"…Destroying the machines is the best way to guarantee they are not used again, and also makes it more expensive for illegal video gamblers to restart their businesses, [Sgt. Adrian Mascorro with the Police Department's Special Investigation Unit] said.
