Students Turn To Poker to Stave Off Debt

Machester, UK (PRWEB) October 11, 2006 -- For a few years now Online Poker has been a way for students to supposedly deal with their low income while studying. They see it as an easy way to earn cash, as the game needs a good understanding of odds and statistics, and mathematical students have found it to be easy to translate their subject to the game. Plus it's a lot of fun, and very 'cool' at the moment.

However, now students have started to actually work for the sites themselves, setting up as 'affiliates' and distributing posters and flyers around their campuses and even organising Poker tournaments so that the customers come to them.

The thing that students find so appealing about this way of making money is that it is so easy to get started. It takes no money to start up and even a few hours work a week can give them a nice subsidiary income.

Shahid, 24, a student based in Liverpool made £2000 last year promoting Party Poker. "I just started off giving my Bonus Code to my mates and made about £250 doing that. Then I organised a few games, and gave everyone my flyers, and tripled my income. I can't believe how easy it is," he said.

Owen Rankin, who runs a blog showing you how to start up in the business (http://studentpokeraffiliates.blogspot.com/) can't believe more people do it. "It took me five minutes to design my first flyer and cost me £18 to get printed. But out of that first run, I made over £500. That's why i set the blog up, as I thought there was a wasted opportunity there, and I couldn't cover the whole country unfortunately, having only one pair of arms."

With the recent US gambling laws not affecting the UK market at all there has probably never been a better time to get into this market and it doesn't take a genius to work that one out.
