San Jose man wins big at casino slots

A San Jose man's life will never be the same after winning $2,103,287.58 May 19 on the Wheel of Fortune MegaJackpot progressive slot machine at Cache Creek Casino Resort.
Saul Espinal, a 39-year old plaster repair crew manager, decided to visit Cache Creek after bad weather forced his crew off their worksite. He went to the 25-cent machines but they were occupied so he turned to the dollar machines. He first put $20 in the machine, then $40 and won $150. The next few spins were uneventful but that changed soon enough.

"The machine started ringing and I looked up and I knew something big happened," he said. "At first I thought I won $500,000, then I looked again and saw two million."

While gaming authorities verified the win, Espinal called two of his five brothers who immediately drove to the casino.

Espinal already has a few ideas about how to use the money. "I'm going to take care of my five brothers and two sisters, my wife, my three little girls and I'm going to make sure they go to college." he said.
