PokerProForAYear tournment beings again

GIBRALTAR -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Pacific Poker, the World's No. 1 Online Casino, 888.com , and the most extensive online poker authority, PokerNews.com , are about to begin Series 5 of PokerProForAYear.

This is the fifth in a series of tournaments in a year-long league that will culminate with a poker player's dream come true for one very lucky person -- an everything-included sponsorship to four of the poker world's greatest tournaments in 2008. The upcoming Global Freeroll for Series 5 is a package to the Aussie Millions, in Melbourne, Australia, worth a fantastic $12,000.

Each series offers a variety of restricted tournaments: weekly $10+$1 -- all of which are $500 guaranteed -- league $500 freerolls and a Global Freeroll, where the winner can get a seat at an offline international event. A large number of registered players from around the world participated in the first 4 series, where they shared over $60,000 in prizes.

The competition has already produced a number of winners. The Series 3 winner of the Global Freeroll is Massimo D. (Italy). He won a $12,000 package to the June 2007 WSOP Main Event, Las Vegas. Global Freeroll packages include a seat at the table, travel and accommodation. The finalist of the Series 3 is Carlo C. (Italy). He and other series finalists will participate in the final offline event. Should any of our series finalists win the offline event and become the PokerProForAYear Grand Prize winner, he or she will walk away with a year-long sponsorship. The runner-up will also be sponsored in one international offline event in 2008, and the third place winner will receive free entries to online qualifiers for global offline events.

888.com's Pacific Poker and Poker News created this 48-week tournament extravaganza exclusively for players from PokerNews.com. The event is divided up into six two-month leagues, where ten lucky players will win their way to the world-class PokerProForAYear Final. These players will be chartered VIP-style, all-expenses paid, to a secret location to compete for the sponsorship and the first-ever title of PokerProForAYear. It's never too late to join the upcoming leagues.

Matt Robinson, Marketing 888.com, believes that PokerProForAYear is an event that will have great impact on the world of poker. "We're sending players to some of the world's most outstanding poker events and giving players a chance to be sponsored by two poker giants. Our Poker Pro will be seen around the world in the grand finale via webcast, courtesy of PokerNews."
